Welcome back to Teach on the Beach and our first blog post of the new, and final, term of this school year! In the coming months the plan is to make as much use of our amazing outdoor environment for Health and Well Being lessons as we can. On Friday we had an active afternoon with a number of fun and super energetic P.E. activities! In the run up to Sports Day we are practising skills we need for athletics events and as you can see from the photos we got a fantastic afternoon for it!
While we were on the beach a number of the children noticed birds nesting in the cliffs nearby. Since returning to school we have been in touch with some local bird enthusiasts who have kindly agreed to come and join one of our sessions in a fortnights time to share with the children details of some of the birds nesting in the area around Eoligarry.
Although the focus of our sessions has changed slightly we are still very much looking for ways to take responsibility for our coastline. This week I challenged the children carry out a "Rainbow Litter Challenge" where they were to collect as many different colours of rubbish as they could!
We have been following the recent news that more than 40 global companies have pledged to cut plastic pollution over the next seven years with interest and here in Sgoil Eolaigearraidh we will continue to do our bit to help too!
